The Mission of the Academy of KRD is to provide solid technical training in a variety of dance forms in a nurturing environment where dancers of all ages, backgrounds and levels may explore their love of dance in a non-competitive, all welcoming setting.

Professional Training: Receive solid technical training from experienced instructors at The Academy of Kim Robards Dance. Our faculty of professionals guide students of all ages and experience levels developing dance skills and overall fitness and well-being. The Academy of KRD offers a Youth Program for Ages 4-18, Beginning to Advanced levels; an Adult Program (Ages 18 +), Beginning to Professional levels; and a Women’s Health Initiative for women of all ages, backgrounds and experience levels.

We believe in creating a supportive atmosphere where students of all ages, ability levels and backgrounds receive solid training, enjoy learning and are able to express their love for dance without the pressure of competition. Classes are offered at The beautiful KRD Venue!

Explore: At The Academy of KRD, we encourage our students to explore their creative ideas. Our guided approach allows students to develop their artistic expression while ensuring they have a strong foundation in dance technique. Students of all ages and levels with the guidance instructors and based on dance skill sets and choreographic concepts create “Focus Pieces” which are presented in culminating showcases.

Express: The Academy of KRD provides students – Youth and Adults alike – with two presentations during the year. The Fall affords students the opportunity to share the class material accomplished to date and “focus pieces” in-progress in an in-formal Studio Presentation. The Spring Showcase is a more formal, costumed, ticketed performance wherein Youth and Adults who wish to do so, perform on stage at the KRD Venue in a performance open to family, friends, and the community.
