KRD presents "Love, Lore and Legendary"

This evening of original works by Artistic Director Kim Robards brings audiences an intimate look at solos, duets, and small ensemble pieces, as well as a sneak peek of the second movement of "Unstruck Sound" created to Beethoven Symphony No. 9. This is a precursor to the full 71 minute work to be premiered in its totality in May.  "Love, Lore and Legendary" is a family friendly evening that will delight audiences of all ages. Enjoy sweet treats and beverages to celebrate the best of Valentine's Day and St. Patrick's Day! The KRD Venue has been called, "The best space in Denver for dance".

KRD presents "Unstruck Sound"

In May we will be presenting the region’s largest professional artistic collaboration featuring Artistic Director/Choreographer Kim Robards’ critically acclaimed masterwork, “Unstruck Sound” created to the world renown Beethoven Symphony No. 9. Kim’s company will dance the full 71 minute work which will be played and sung live by Boulder Symphony and Chorus, bringing together more than 150 professional artists!  This event is being presented at The Waymire Dome in Brighton, one of only a handful of venues large enough to accommodate both artists and audiences! This is presented by Adams County Parks, Open Space and Cultural Arts.

On May 18 we will be presenting at our home venue Artistic Director/Choreographer Kim Robards’ critically acclaimed masterwork, “Unstruck Sound” created to the world renown Beethoven Symphony No. 9. Kim’s company will dance the full 71 minute work!  This performance of the piece will provide audiences a unique opportunity to experience the pure physicality and athletic artistry upclose in KRD's peerless venue.

KRD presents "Works In The Works"

This performance features the first look at new Kim Robards work being created and current work in the repertoire restaged during KRD's 2-week professional Summer Intensive Company Project! KRD professional company members work alongside aspiring artists and auditioning dancers from around the country.

AUDITIONS

Auditions are now open for paid Company Member positions, Apprentices, and Summer Intensive Company Project participation (June 16-28, 2025). Dancers with previous professional experience are preferred and recent college graduates are given consideration. Dancers may schedule an in-person audition or may submit materials electronically. Required materials are the same for in-person and electronic submissions. Applications must be complete before they will be reviewed.

Required materials:

1) Letter of interest in working with KRD

2) Resume including current address, email, phone, height, date of birth

3) Three Letters of Recommendation

4) Head Shot

5) Full Body Photo

6) In-person date scheduled or DVD or link to dancer video (preferably in modern repertoire). Please identify yourself in the video.

7) $25.00 Audition Fee payable via check to Kim Robards or Venmo to Kim Robards @Kim-Robards. Cash is acceptable if auditioning in person.

KRD VENUE CELEBRATES 2ND ANNIVERSARY

The KRD Venue in February 2025 celebrates its 2nd Anniversary of being open to the public and serving as a cultural center for the community. KRD’s new home in the historic Chaffee Park neighborhood on Denver’s vibrant North Side – is a unique, peerless venue which serves as KRD’s permanent home; one which fills a gap through providing much needed class, rehearsal, performance and event space to other cultural entities; and one which provides opportunities for cultural engagement in and with residents of Denver’s North Side community and those from across metro-Denver.

It is KRD's goal to activate the space with a diverse array of cultural events in a welcoming, professional, enticing, and exciting manner.

FIND YOUR SELF HERE: The KRD Venue is available for rentals for performances, special events, rehearsals and classes. We invite you to schedule a time to have a tour of the 17,800 square foot building.

KRD COLLABORATED ON
10 OUTREACH PERFORMANCES

Kim Robards Dance collaborated with Inside the Orchestra to present 10 performances in December reaching more than 7,500 youth and parents. The performances featuring live music and dance were presented at five locations including: McNichols Building and History Colorado Museum, Denver County; Parker Fieldhouse, Douglas County; EPIC Campus, Arapahoe County; Brighton Armory, Adams County. Key artistic collaborators for these performances included Central City Opera and Denver Center for the Performing Arts.
